Common questions

Do I need an account?

Not to watch. Every lesson on the wall, and any lesson someone shares with you, plays without signing in. You need an account to ask Nib your own questions.

How do I sign in?

Choose Sign in and continue with Google. Connecting askNib from ChatGPT also offers a code sent to your email, which helps where Google sign-in won't open. If sign-in fails, try again in a normal browser window (not a private one), and make sure cookies are allowed for asknib.com.

Why can't I ask any more today?

Each account can ask a limited number of questions per day, and asks from asknib.com and from ChatGPT share the same count. It resets at midnight UTC. On a very busy day, asking can also pause for everyone until then. Saved lessons always play.

Nib wouldn't answer my question. Why?

Nib teaches a general audience, so he declines some topics. A declined lesson isn't saved.

The voice didn't play.

Tap the sound button or the lesson once: browsers only play sound after a tap. Captions always show what Nib is saying. If a lesson stops partway, reload the page; saved lessons replay with their voice.

Who can see my lessons?

You choose for each lesson: everyone (on the public wall and in search), link only, or only me. Lessons you ask for from ChatGPT start as link only. To change who can see a lesson, open it while you're signed in.

How do I delete a lesson, or my account?

On your account page, each lesson has a delete button, and “delete everything” removes your account with all its lessons. You can download all your lessons there first. See the privacy policy for what deletion removes.

How do I use askNib in ChatGPT?

Find askNib in ChatGPT's plugin directory, add it, then start a message with “Ask Nib to draw…”, for example “Ask Nib to draw how your heart pumps blood.” Watching saved lessons works straight away. To have Nib draw a new lesson, ChatGPT asks you to connect your askNib account once. A new lesson takes about a minute and draws live in the chat; ChatGPT can then answer follow-up questions about it.

How do I disconnect askNib from ChatGPT?

In ChatGPT, open Settings and find askNib under your plugins or connected apps, then disconnect it. Your askNib account and lessons stay; delete them on your account page if you want them gone.
